TMJ Treatment

What is TMJ? It's the easy way to say "temporo-mandibular joint." The TMJ is the joint that lets your lower jaw move. The movement in this joint lets you open and close your mouth and chew from side to side. If your teeth don't fit together properly (this is called the bite), the TMJ and your jaw muscles may be affected.

TMJ problems not only include jaw discomfort, but can also lead to neck and shoulder pain and severe headaches.

There are a number of reasons why our patients experience TMJ problems, including injury, clenching or grinding the teeth, arthritis or poorly aligned teeth.
